Polyester resin grouts
Uses
Lokfix are used for high strength corrosion resistant anchoring of bolts and bars from 12 - 51mm diameter into concrete, rock, masonry or brickwork where high speed of installation and early application of load is required.
Permanent installation of reinforcement starter bars, foundation bolts, base plates, balustrading, barriers and safety fences, railway tracks, tie-back anchors, reinforcement dowelling abutments, ground anchors for towers, crane, dock sills.

Description
The three versions of Lokfix polyester resin grout are all premeasured, two part, filled polyster resin grouts. After hardening the grout produces anchorages of consistent reproducible values.
The versions are:
Lokfix L (Large aggregate)
Lokfix S (Small aggregate)
Lokfix P (Pumpable grade)
Lokfix L is used where hole diameter exceeds bar diameter by 25 to 50mm.
Lokfix S is used where the difference between the hole diameter and bar diameter is < 25mm.
Lokfix P is used in overhead or horizontal holes where bar / hole relationship conforms to Lokfix polyester resin grout S. The thixotropic nature of Lokfix polyester resin grout P reduces flow of grout out of the hole.

Design criteria
The version of Lokfix grout to be used will depend upon ambient temperature and anchor conditions.
The high strength of the cured resin permits strong anchors to be created. The ultimate bond strength developed depends upon:

Hole preparation and formation
Optimum performance of Lokfix requires rough sided, dust free holes. Uses of rotary percussive drills with air or water flushing is recommended.
Diamond drilled holes should be under-reamed unless necessary safety factors are incorporated.
Cast holes should preferably be inverse dovetail configuration. If parallel sides holes are cast they should be rough to provide adequate keying.
Bar preparation
All bars should preferably be degreased and all flaky rust removed.
Mixing
A complete pack of resin and catalysed filler should be mixed in one operation. Mixing may be carried out mechanically. When a smooth, even consistency is achieved the grout is ready for use and should be placed well within the gel time of the grout ( See properties).

Application For best results, surfaces should be damp. In order to Obtain the protective properties of Brushbond Roof Guard it is important that the correct rates of application are observed. Use a short stiff brush preferably 120-150mm width and apply the mixed material like paint. The application of Brushbond Roof Guard should not be done if the temperature of the substrate is below 100C. When applying Brushbond Roof Guard on hot substrates i.e., over 300C surface temperature, saturate the surface with water. Apply Brushbond Roof Guard primer ( one litre of Brushbond Roof Guard mixed with 1 litre of water) followed by application of Brushbond Roof Guard in 3 coats to achieve total dry film thickness of 1mm . The second & third coat of Brushbond Roof Guard shall be applied as soon as the first coat has reached touch dry state. If planning for protection screed allow the Brushbond Roof Guard coating to dry before covering with screed, sprinkle coarse sand on wet surface of final coating for better adhesion of screed.

Chloride content : As per IS:2645-2003
Compatibility : Can be used with all types of cements,including pozzolanic but not High Alumina Cement.
Permeability to water : Less than 15% as compared to 50% max. allowable under IS:2645compared to control sample.
Setting Time: No significant effect on setting time of concrete or mortar.

N.B.: The minimum dosage is 125ml and the maximum is 200ml per 50kgs of cement. If maximum dosage is used a minimum of 15% water should be reduced to ensure no loss in strength. Site trials shall be carried out to arrive at the optimum dosage.
The required quantity of Conplast WL is measured and stir into the first or second bucket of water.
Conplast WL water mixture shall be added to the concrete or mortar and mixed thoroughly.
Mixing shall be continued and further water shall be added until the required workability is obtained.
The total amount of water added per mix in the initial batches shall be maintained for the remaining batches.
Note: Mixes using Conplast WL will require much less water than normal mixes for the same workability. Water reduction may be as much as 15% or more.
